I bought these for the gym but I've been wearing them everywhere. The high waist stays put through squats and lunges — no rolling down, no gaps at the back when you bend over. The cargo pockets on the thighs fit my phone easily, and the buttons actually keep them closed. Fabric feels thick enough that you don't have to worry about sheerness at all. The flare at the bottom gives them a slightly dressed-up vibe that works for running errands too.

I was skeptical about the scrunch detail at the back but it actually looks great and feels fine while wearing — not uncomfortable at all. Sizing was true to size for me, the waistband is wide and doesn't dig in. I've washed these four or five times now and the fabric still looks new. My only note is the flare starts around the knee so if you're shorter you might want to hem them slightly, but I'm 5'7" and the length was perfect.
